Charities encouraged to apply for 2018 large grants

£100,000 from charities registered in Scotland. The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 16 February 2018.

Now in its fourth year, 16 charities across Scotland have benefited from over £1.3m of funding through the Foundation’s Large Grants Programme so far. The focus of the awards is to develop and improve communities, as well as support financial inclusion and financial literacy in areas of demonstrable need.

While the Foundation’s Small and Medium Grants require charities to use all of the funds within one year of receipt, Large Grants can provide charities with steady, reliable funding over one or two years.

Philip Grant, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Chair of the Scottish Executive Committee, Lloyds Banking Group said, “Bank of Scotland Foundation is delighted to continue our Large Grants Programme for a fourth year. Since launching this particular programme in 2015, we’ve helped 16 charities across Scotland continue to provide a vital service to their communities.

“Charities regularly face many challenges and our Large Grants Programme can help provide them with funding certainty over a longer period, alleviating some of the daily pressures. The work that charities do is invaluable and Bank of Scotland Foundation is proud to support them in enabling people across Scotland to benefit from a variety of much needed local services and personal support.”

Large Grants Programme:

  • Open for grants of between £50,000 and £100,000
  • Closes to applications at 12 noon on Friday 16 February 2018
  • Successful applications announced during June 2018
  • Funds can be used over one or two years depending on the needs of the charity

Bank of Scotland Foundation’s aim is to help develop and improve local communities and address financial literacy and financial inclusion by supporting local, regional and national charities working at the heart of communities across Scotland.
