Bank of Scotland Foundation fuels positive change with £2.55 million in charity support

Bank of Scotland Foundation, an independent charity funded solely by Lloyds Banking Group, has provided a significant boost to seventeen Scottish charities by awarding them £2.55 million of unrestricted funding through its multi-year Empower grants programme. This vital funding gives charities the flexibility to cover a range of essential costs and respond swiftly and effectively to challenges, ensuring they can continue their impactful work within their communities.

The Empower Grants programme is designed to provide long-term financial support to charities working with vulnerable groups across Scotland. Successful applicants receive three years of unrestricted funding, totalling £150,000, which can be used to cover core costs, project expenses, and operational needs. By offering multi-year support, the programme helps charities maintain stability and focus on delivering essential services to those who need them most.

Among the beneficiaries are Clackmannanshire Women’s Aid, Good Morning Project Limited, Health All Round and Peeblesshire Foodbank.

Donald MacKechnie, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation said "We are incredibly proud to support these remarkable charities through our Empower grants programme. Their dedication to improving the lives of people living in vulnerable circumstances across Scotland is inspiring. By providing multi-year funding, we hope to give these organisations the stability and flexibility they need to continue their essential work and we look forward to seeing the positive changes they bring about over the coming years”.
