Bank of Scotland Foundation supports record number of charities through Energise grants programme
Bank of Scotland Foundation, an independent charity funded solely by Lloyds Banking Group, is proud to announce the largest single grant programme in its history, awarding £2,080,000 in unrestricted, multi-year funding to sixty-five Scottish charities through its Energise grants programme.
This landmark investment underscores the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to supporting grassroots charities across Scotland. The Energise grants programme offers two tiers of unrestricted funding to Scottish charities. Charities with an annual income below £50,000 can receive £20,000 (£10,000 per year over two years), whilst those with an income between £50,000 and £150,000 can receive £40,000 (£20,000 per year over two years). By providing unrestricted funding over two years, the Energise grants programme empowers charities to allocate resources where they are needed most, whether towards core costs, project delivery, or responding to emerging challenges.
Donald MacKechnie, Chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation, said: “This is a defining moment for the Foundation. Supporting sixty-five charities with over £2 million in unrestricted funding not only demonstrates the scale of our commitment, but also the trust we place in these charitable organisations to use the funding in ways that best serve their communities. Energise is about enabling flexibility, resilience, and long-term impact.”
This year’s recipients span a diverse range of causes, reaching across Scotland. Among the beneficiaries are Advocacy Orkney, Headway Ayrshire, House of Hope, Neuro Hebrides, Moray Supports Migrants & Refugees, Smalls for All and Women’s Integration Network.
All sixty-five charities have now received their first grant payment, with the second instalment scheduled for 2026.
The sixty-five charities to be awarded an Energise grant are:
